Re: Midlife and Sunscreen

Thanks for your kind words. It is not that I feel lacking in confidence, it is just that before this I never actually noticed any aging sign in my body, and now I do. With regards to UV. Here, the altitude is 2,240 m (that's 7349 ft for the weirdos out there) and the UV index ranges from high to ext...

Re: If are still not using Linux, now it is a good time to start

Update. I am still using Linux, the learning curve has flattened a bit now and I feel more comfortable with everyday tasks. Uploading/Downloading to and fro the cloud still consists of manual labor, but I am getting used to it and most of my backups are done automatically to a couple of SSD's I have...

Midlife and Sunscreen

I am a white guy and the sun burns me red. I also have a history of skin cancer in my family. My dad developed a mild type of skin cancer and he also had granules in his nose in his later years, again, due to sun exposure. He was the one who insisted that I should really start wearing sunscreen. On ...

Re: Two great pulls

Today I found an SMD soldering station at the recycle , Aoyue INT 866 with pre heater plate , hot air gun and soldering iron , All the important parts work but the soldering iron heatsheild is bent and the whole assembly sits slightly loose in the handle , so its a pain to use , but no real reason ...

Re: Stories You Couldn't Post In The Brewery

I've heard Eric a couple of times but I've listened to his brother Bret fairly frequently. Bret has been pretty outspoken on the Covid hoax and I recently heard him regarding his travels with Michael Yon. Eric is very vocal about the hypocrisy of the "science" community, specifically when...

Re: Mic Fet booster with stepped HPF and line drive

Those do seem like good options. There is another issue. The problem with strapping the BJT base-emitter junction directly across the JFET current source is that you are operating the JFETs at very different VDS. The low DC offset that the circuit in your image accomplishes is possible because you h...

Re: Mic Fet booster with stepped HPF and line drive

Looks like the buffer circuit should work just the same with either +/- 15v or a single +30v , only difference would be the input would reside at +15 v with single rail , or close to zero with +/- supply . Below is a rough sketch of what I had in mind , P1070592.JPG Which LSK389 will you be using? ...
